
Naomie Macena
Philanthropy Program Manager
Ms. Macena is Vice President and Philanthropy Program Manager at Bessemer Trust. In this role, she manages and oversees philanthropic portfolios for client foundations to advance their mission and goals, leveraging her experience in grantmaking and program management, communications, deliverable development, research, analysis, and project management.
Prior to joining Bessemer in 2019, Naomie was a program officer at the Foundation for Child Development (FCD), where she managed a grants portfolio focused on the early childhood education workforce. She also oversaw FCD’s Young Scholars Fellowship Program, which provides research grants and professional development for early-career researchers.
She serves on the board of the Mount Vernon SDA Church and advises numerous nonprofits on how to develop effective grant proposals that seek to enhance community impact.
Naomie earned a Master of Social Work, magna cum laude, with a concentration in administration and development from Andrews University and a B.S./M.A. in criminal justice and sociology from St. John’s University in New York. She is certified as a multigenerational facilitator (21/64).
