Mr. Simonsen is Principal and Senior Wealth Advisor at Bessemer Trust. In this role, he leads a team responsible for initiating relationships with clients by understanding their objectives and presenting solutions across the firm’s comprehensive capabilities in Investment Management, Wealth Planning, and Family Office Services.

Prior to rejoining Bessemer in 2020, C.J. was a client strategist at BNY Mellon Wealth Management, where he was responsible for initiating new client relationships. Previously, he served in the U.S. Navy as an F/A-18E Super Hornet pilot, including a three-year tour as a Blue Angel pilot. He completed seven deployments around the world, flew combat missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and had 570 arrested landings onboard multiple aircraft carriers.

He serves on the Board of Trustees of All Saints Day School.

C.J. earned an M.B.A. from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.S., with merit, in aerospace engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, where he was a sprinter, captain of the track team, and class president. He lives with his wife and two children in Carmel, CA.
